This programme offers you a skills-based approach to the study of English language in a linear context. You will develop the skills you need to read, understand and analyse a wide range of different texts covering the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. You will also develop the ability to write clearly, coherently and accurately using a range of vocabulary and sentence structures. This course requires at least 2.5 hours of self-study each week, a minimum requirement of 85% attendance and completion of all set tasks for entry to exams. This course does not cover the basics of English grammar, punctuation and spelling, as you are expected to have these skills already. This course is free if you do not have this qualification at grade C (or a Level 2 equivalent/grades 9-4) or above.
Introduction course prior to the full Level 2 GCSE English Language. This essential short course gives you and your teacher the ideal opportunity to see if the full course is right for you, in terms of content and workload, without the pressure of actual assignments or exams.
