This Level 3 introductory course is aimed at those considering working as a teacher in the learning and skills sector (post 14). This short course provides a valuable toolkit for new teachers that includes teaching roles and responsibilities, approaches to learning, assessment and the experience of undertaking a small-scale teaching session. This Level 3 assessor qualification is the industry standard for vocational, apprenticeship, and other qualifications within the sector, and is excellent professional development for teachers. You will cover principles of assessment, as well as producing product evidence linked to your own assessment practices. It is a requirement that you are working with a minimum of two learners in an assessing capacity. The product evidence you will be producing will mostly be generated from your own activity with your learners. In addition, you will need to be observed conducting assessments with your learners by one of our experienced team. The course consists of one direct delivery session, with blended learning delivered through e-tutorials. You will need access to IT, and will require a pre-course interview. This full Level 4 course is the industry standard for teachers working in education and training. The course is delivered over one academic year on Saturdays, although not every Saturday. A schedule is available upon request. The qualification explores planning, meeting the needs of individual learners, assessment, use of resources, and some philosophies of learning. In addition to formal written assignments (which need to be produced using ICT), you will also need to be observed teaching your specialist subject to your own learners a minimum of three times over the duration of the year.
