London History: “Shop ‘til you drop” – Famous Markets & Stores

The course will take you on a fascinating journey through the history of London’s world famous markets, stores and shopping districts – from the East End to the West End – including Petticoat Lane, Spitalfields, Billingsgate, Borough, Covent Garden, Carnaby Street, Portobello Road, Burlington Arcade, Harrods, Fortnum & Masons, Gamages, Liberties – plus some of London’s more unusual and unique shops. The course also covers how to be a careful shopper – including tricks of the trade and tips on spotting fake goods. There will be six trips to London. The costs of travel are not included in the course fees.

In Person – No appointment is necessary but please check our opening hours before coming along. You will be able to enrol at our Bower Park or Brittons Centres. You will need to bring along your payment, ID, proof of address and proof of eligibility (if applicable) at the time of your enrolment. If you are unsure what to bring, please ring ahead for confirmation.
