Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Lite – Introduction

This is an ideal course for those with a general interest in mental health. On this introduction course, you will be able to define mental health and some common mental health issues. Identify stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health issues, relate to people’s experiences, support people in distress and look after your own mental health. This course is ideal for you if you wish to gain a greater understanding of person-centred approaches when working with adults with mental health issues. You will gain an understanding of mental health conditions and the impact on the individual. This is an accredited course and you will be required to complete a workbook, which will be externally verified, to receive your certificate. We are happy to deliver this course externally for groups of eight or more learners.

In Person – No appointment is necessary but please check our opening hours before coming along. You will be able to enrol at our Bower Park or Brittons Centres. You will need to bring along your payment, ID, proof of address and proof of eligibility (if applicable) at the time of your enrolment. If you are unsure what to bring, please ring ahead for confirmation.
