If you’re drawn to nurturing young children during their most formative years, Early Years is where you’ll shine. As an Early Years Practitioner, you will learn how to care for children straight from birth to seven years of age.
Our Early Years courses provide a strong, supportive introduction to working in childcare settings, equipping you with the essential knowledge, skills, and confidence to work with babies and young children. You will explore child development, safeguarding, health and safety, and the importance of play, while developing practical skills in communication, creativity, and inclusive practice.
Accredited by NCFE CACHE, these qualifications offer a trusted route into the childcare sector. A work placement within a nursery is required for both Level 2 and Level 3, and this can be completed through either paid employment or a voluntary role.
EARLY YEARS PRACTITIONER COURSES & PROGRESSION
Level 1 Award in Caring for Children
Over 12 engaging sessions, you will:
• Explore child development from birth to five years.
• Learn how to create a safe, nurturing environment for children.
• Understand the importance of diet, exercise, and play in early childhood.
• Gain hands-on experience in promoting communication, social skills, and emotional development.
This course is ideal for those looking to build confidence, develop practical skills, or progress to a Level 2 Certificate in Childcare. No prior experience is required, but a good standard of English and Maths (Level 1) is recommended.
Level 2 Extended Technical Occupational Entry for the Early Years Practitioner (Diploma)
Gain the essential skills and knowledge to support babies and young children from birth to five years old while developing an
understanding of their needs up to seven years.
Throughout this course, you will:
• Learn about child development, safeguarding, and health & safety in early years settings.
• Support play, creativity, and social development through engaging activities.
• Develop practical skills in caring for children, promoting well-being, and inclusive practice.
• Gain hands-on experience through real work placements to apply your learning in a professional setting.
Perfect for those looking to enter the childcare sector or progress to further qualifications, this diploma prepares you for roles such as an Early Years Practitioner, Classroom Assistant, or Pre-School Practitioner.
A work placement within a nursery is required, and can be completed through eithe rpaid employment or a voluntary role.
Level 3 Technical Occupational Entry for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) (Diploma)
This comprehensive course equips you with the skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience needed to work confidently in early years settings, supporting children from birth to five years old.
Throughout this course, you will:
• Gain in-depth knowledge of child development, safeguarding, and health & safety.
• Learn how to create engaging learning environments and support play-based learning.
• Develop communication, leadership, and teamwork skills essential for early years practice.
• Complete a minimum of 300 work placement hours, applying your learning in real-world settings.
This qualification meets the Department for Education’s Early Years Educator (DfE EYE) criteria, preparing you for roles such as Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, or Pre-School Leader.
A work placement within a nursery is required and can be completed through either paid employment or a voluntary role.
