Why Supported Internships are Good for Business and Young People

What is involved?

Supported internships are a structured, work-based study programme for 16 to 24-year-olds with SEND, who have an education, health and care (EHC) plan. The core aim of a supported internship study programme is a substantial work placement, facilitated by the support of an expert job coach.

REACH SKILLS ASSESSMENT DAY

On the assessment day, you will participate in tasks during an hourlong session. Various employers will be present with job coaches, as well as staff members from Reach at BDC. You will be assessed on your skills through different activities that demonstrate your physical abilities, task handling, language understanding, and personality. These assessments help us find the most appropriate placement for you. Parents/carers are welcome to attend, but interviews with learners will be conducted separately to ensure we capture your individual outlook.

20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 26th, 27th, 28th, 30th of August, Barking & Dagenham College, Rush Green Campus, 10AM – 4PM.
