ICT COURSES

IT for Beginners

Our IT for Beginners programme is delivered across three supportive steps, just like the courses shown above.

  • Part 1 helps you get comfortable with the absolute basics — using a mouse, keyboard, and simple computer controls.
  • Part 2 builds your confidence with everyday digital tasks like managing files, browsing safely, and managing simple online activities.
  • Part 3 takes you beyond the basics, helping you use multiple applications, handle emails and attachments, and you’ll even finish with an Entry Level 3 E‑Safety qualification.

If you’re not confident with technology, this is the perfect place to start.

Digital Functional Skills

Once you’ve built your confidence with the basics, the next stage is our Digital Functional Skills qualifications at Entry Level 3 and Level 1. These accredited courses help you develop the practical digital skills needed for everyday life, work, and further learning — from using devices safely to creating documents, managing data, and communicating online.

If you’re not quite ready to jump straight into a qualification, don’t worry. We also offer a friendly 3‑session Preparing for Digital Functional Skills course, designed to refresh your core skills and help you feel fully comfortable before moving on.

Level 2 Digital Skills Courses

If you have completed your Level 1 and are left still wanting to continue your digital development, we have some great Level 2 courses on offer. Our Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (International Computer Driving Licence Extra) is perfect for boosting your confidence with Word, Excel and Presentation software, helping you create professional documents, spreadsheets and presentations that can strengthen your job prospects. For those interested in protecting digital systems and understanding the world of online security, the Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Cyber Security provides a solid introduction to cyber threats, data protection, risk management and the essential practices used across the industry. Both courses offer recognised qualifications and flexible start dates, giving you the chance to advance your skills in a way that fits your life.
