Our Employment & Skills Hub at the Bower Park Centre is a flexible space where learners can study, access digital devices, complete assignments, and practise the skills they are developing on their courses. These Study Hub sessions will usually take place on Tuesdays and Fridays, please check the schedule below for specific dates. 

We are also proud to partner with Havering Works, the London Borough of Havering’s innovative employment and skills service, to provide our learners with dedicated, on-site careers support. An experienced Havering Works Employment Advisor is in the college every fortnight, working alongside our Employability Teacher to offer personalised guidance and practical support.

Havering Works provides free, one-to-one support tailored to each individual, helping learners build confidence, develop their skills, and move closer to employment. This includes CV writing, interview preparation, job search strategies, and matching existing skills to real job opportunities.

Through this partnership, eligible learners can also access the Trailblazers programme which is designed to support individuals facing barriers to employment. Whether due to health conditions, caring responsibilities, gaps in qualifications, or other challenges, Trailblazers offers a supportive and flexible pathway into work.

The programme includes:
• Personalised one-to-one support
• Bespoke job-search and work experience opportunities
• Confidence building and skills development
• Access to specialist services and additional support where needed
• Guidance on reasonable adjustments in the workplace

Trailblazers is open to Havering residents aged 19+ and have the right to work in the UK, who are not currently working, not actively seeking work or not available to start work in the next 2 weeks but are motivated to take steps towards employment.
