ABOUT
Becoming a teaching assistant in the UK is a rewarding path for anyone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development. If you want to work with children aged between 4-19 then the Teaching Assistant pathway is for you.
Our Teaching Assistant courses provide a strong, structured introduction to working within a school environment, equipping you with the essential knowledge, skills, and confidence. You will be guided by experienced teachers with industry expertise, explore the roles and responsibilities of school staff, develop effective communication skills, and gain a solid understanding of safeguarding, inclusion, and child development.
Accredited by NCFE CACHE, these qualifications provide a trusted pathway into education. A school placement is required for both Level 2 and Level 3 courses, and this can be completed through either paid work or a voluntary role.
TEACHING ASSISTANT COURSES & PROGRESSION
Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Schools
This course is your first step to gaining the essential skills and knowledge to work in a school setting. You’ll learn key topics to prepare you to confidently support children and young people in the classroom.
You will also gain an Entry Level 3 Award in British Values qualification.
Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching & Learning
Perfect for those aiming to work as teaching assistants or in other support roles, this qualification will provide you with a strong foundation in education and child development.
You will also gain an Entry Level 3 Award in British Values.
A school placement is required. This can be completed through either paid work or a voluntary role.
Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching & Learning

FURTHER TRAINING
Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism
This course will help you understand the challenges and strengths associated with autism, and equip you with the tools to provide effective support in various settings, including education and care.
Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties
This course provides you with the essential knowledge to understand and address the challenges faced by individuals with SpLD, such as dyslexia and dyspraxia, and how to support them effectively in educational and care settings.
Level 2 Understanding Behaviour that Challenges
This course will help you understand the causes of challenging behaviour and equip you with strategies to support positive outcomes in various care and educational settings.
Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Children and Young Peoples Mental Health
This course will equip you with the understanding needed to identify mental health issues and provide appropriate support in educational and care environments.
